TESTIMONIES
Catherine & Harun
We are a married couple living in Daresalaam, Tanzania. We got married in Feb 2016, and have had a gracious marriage of 5.5 years now with two children(boys). We completed the Becoming One study at the end of 2015 just before we got married in the beginning of 2016 via video calls with our spiritual parents and mentors while they were in the United States.
The Becoming One study has been the foundation of our marriage and a study that’s been very close to our hearts. We not only enjoyed the opportunity we had to study God’s word and intentions of our marriage through this study, but have enjoyed how the Holy Spirit has reminded us of all the lessons in the study throughout the years we’ve been together and consequently helped us get through all of the challenges we’ve faced.
We’ve faced a number of challenges in the journey of becoming one after we got married and we believe there are many to come but through it all the knowledge we gained in the study is what has kept us winning while battling the devil’s schemes and our own sinful natures.
We have had a desire to share what we learnt in this study with others and have managed to complete the study with one couple since then. We however have recently identified a number of couples whom we plan to share the study with after we translate it to our native language.
We thank God for Wes and Beth Gestring for their labor of love and how that has impacted our marriage. We pray we can share that love with others in the years to come so more couples can understand God’s purpose in marriages.

Thato & Thandeka
Before getting married we got introduced to the course through one of the connect groups we had in university, around 2017/2018. At the time Thandeka and I had known and committed that our prayer is for God to allow us to end up together in marriage and unity. At that point we had ensured that we clearly knew what kind of union we were looking forward to.
By 2020 when we had initiated the process of Lobola and getting into the institution of marriage, we were both struck with anxiety-inducing advices about how tough and hard marriage will be. At certain points we were questioned on why we chose to marry so young. Our resolution was on living in purity and in the desire to live a life that was satisfying to God our Lord.
Fast forward to the course of the program, we had found ourselves excited and quite encouraged about the institution of marriage which we were getting into. We found ourselves excited about producing a Godly heritage and serving God mostly through our marriage. It gave us so much perspective.
We value so much what this 12 week course has done for us. It has given us the right mind for going into marriage, contextually speaking it has made Philippians 2:5 “to let this mind be in you, that was also in Christ”.
We are grateful and continue to grow in excitement looking towards our marriage thanks to the biblical wisdom that was imparted through the Becoming One course!
Stay blessed, Mr. and Mrs. Sibanyoni
